ADALE (KAAB TV) – Reports from Koogaar, near Burdheere in Adale District, Middle Shabelle region, confirm that two civilians were killed early this morning by armed militias.
Local sources identified the victims as Fanax Macalin Habeeb, an employee of a telecommunications company, and Muhuddin Araale, who worked at a local water well. Witnesses said the attackers were from the Adale area and fled the scene immediately after the killings.
While the exact motive behind the attack remains unknown, residents believe the killings are linked to ongoing tribal tensions in the area. Community members warn that the incident may escalate into wider conflict if left unaddressed.
This latest violence follows a similar incident just days ago, where a Noha vehicle driver was reportedly shot dead by militias near the outskirts of Adale district—again, believed to be perpetrated by local armed groups.
So far, neither the Adale district administration nor regional and federal security agencies have issued statements regarding the increasing violence in the area. The absence of official response has raised concerns among residents about deteriorating security and the potential for further bloodshed.
