Questions have emerged in recent days regarding the whereabouts of Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud after he concluded an official visit to Belgrade, Serbia.

President Hassan Sheikh arrived in the Serbian capital on August 31 to attend a high-level event marking the 65th anniversary of the first summit of the Non-Aligned Movement.

During the visit, he participated in discussions with several international leaders and officials attending the gathering.

While in Belgrade, the Somali president held talks with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić.

The two leaders discussed strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation in areas including security, trade, investment and economic development.

Following the conclusion of the summit, unverified reports began circulating on social media and through unofficial sources claiming that Hassan Sheikh had experienced health problems and was briefly admitted to a hospital in Belgrade.

The reports further alleged that the president had been dealing with an undisclosed medical condition and suffered dizziness or illness during his stay in Serbia.

However, no official evidence has been presented to support those claims.

What has been confirmed is that President Hassan Sheikh actively participated in the Belgrade summit and held several diplomatic meetings during the visit.

The Somali government publicly documented his attendance and engagements with foreign leaders.

The Presidency has not yet issued a detailed statement regarding the president’s current location or his official schedule for the coming days, fueling speculation and public discussion.

Until an official update is released, claims that President Hassan Sheikh was hospitalized or is facing a specific health condition remain unverified and should be treated with caution.

For now, the only confirmed information is that he completed his official engagements in Serbia and represented Somalia at the international gathering in Belgrade.
