The State of Qatar has called for the continued provision of technical support and institutional capacity-building for Somalia, specifically within the realm of human rights, emphasizing that such assistance is vital for strengthening Somali state structures and advancing national institutions.
This appeal was delivered in Geneva by Abdulrahman bin Mohamed Fakhro, acting head of Qatar’s permanent diplomatic mission to the United Nations.
During a session discussing the human rights situation in Somalia alongside reports from the UN Human Rights Office.
Fakhro underscored Qatar’s firm backing for Somalia’s ongoing initiatives to reinforce national security, stability, and sovereignty.
While stressing the necessity for the international community to sustain support for Somalia’s national plans and developmental framework.
The Qatari representative noted that Somalia continues to navigate multifaceted challenges impacting its security, stability, and economic growth.
