Garowe (KAAB TV) – Puntland officials have welcomed a new contingent of troops to Garowe, emphasizing their vital role in strengthening security and stability across the region.
Speaking during the welcoming ceremony, Abdi Hirsi Ali Qarjab, Security Adviser to the President of Puntland, urged the forces to remain committed to protecting the region and contributing to Somalia’s broader peace and unity efforts.
He also called on the public to cooperate closely with the new troops to ensure lasting security.
“These forces have arrived to enhance security and maintain stability. We ask the people of Puntland to support them and work hand in hand for the safety of our communities,” Qarjab said.
Qarjab briefly addressed recent online debates regarding changes to the Puntland Police Force logo, describing the controversy as a distraction from more pressing national priorities.
“While some have been busy discussing the police logo on social media, the real focus should be on unity, peace, and the safety of our nation,” he added.
The arrival of the new troops is part of Puntland’s broader efforts to strengthen its security apparatus and maintain peace amid ongoing challenges across Somalia.
