Bosaso (KAAB TV) – President Said Abdullahi Deni of Puntland delivered a speech at a meeting held last night in Bosaso, urging for peace in the ongoing conflict between Somaliland and SSC-Khatumo.

President Deni called on both SSC-Khatumo and Somaliland factions to cease the fighting and engage in dialogue, emphasizing that no progress can be made while the two sides remain at odds.

“The fighting in the Sool region has escalated to a point that I never anticipated,” President Deni stated. “I had hoped that the conflict would have ended by now. If the people of the region want to live peacefully in their respective areas, any further warfare is incomprehensible to me.”

Deni’s comments come at a time when tensions between SSC-Khatumo and Somaliland have reached new heights, with heavy clashes causing significant casualties as the forces of both sides continue to face off.
