Puntland Launches Final Phase of Anti-Daesh Offensive in Calmisaad Mountains

|

Garowe (KAAB TV) – The Puntland administration has announced the launch of heavy airstrikes and a large-scale military operation targeting Daesh (ISIS-affiliated) militants in the Calmisaad Mountains. This action marks the final phase of the ongoing campaign aimed at eradicating the terrorist group from the region.

In an official statement, the operation’s command urged nomadic communities residing in the Calmisaad area to evacuate within 24 hours. The warning comes amid concerns that Daesh fighters may attempt to blend in with local nomads to evade detection.

The anti-terror unit emphasized its commitment to minimizing civilian harm and reiterated that nomadic populations should steer clear of areas known to harbor militants. Authorities say they are fully aware of the tactics used by terrorist elements to exploit local communities for cover.
