Galkayo (KAAB TV) – The Puntland administration has issued a strong warning that the city of Galkayo cannot be conquered or moved to the tribal conflict in the western areas of Mudug region.
Puntland’s Finance Minister, Mohamed Farah Mohamud, who spoke at a peace meeting in Galkayo between the Saad and Leelkase communities, warned that the conflict in the west of Mudug would be moved to Galkayo.
The Minister asked the elders of the two communities to unite for peace and remove everything that could support the conflict. He said that the authorities of Puntland and Galmudug will not accept that the conflict in the countryside will be moved to the town of Galkaayo, the capital of Mudug region.
“You are a united family that will not go anywhere, and the land will remain in its place forever. You are expected to deliver the call for peace to the nomads and do not leave this task as a draft. If you do not agree, the authorities will make a decision that is in the interest of both communities.”
“This city of Galkayo is a city between us, where all Somalis live, we will never accept the fact that there is chaos in the rural areas and the villages, we will reject all those who want to create strife and fight. The war is there and a solution is being sought,” added the Puntland Finance Minister.
