President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Discuss Strengthening Somalia-Ethiopia Relations

Mogadishu (KAAB TV) – President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud held a special meeting with Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, who was in the country for an official visit.

The discussions between the President and Prime Minister focused on enhancing cooperation in security, economy, and social affairs. They emphasized strengthening the historic ties and neighborly relations between the two nations, which are rooted in mutual respect and non-interference in each other’s internal matters.

Additionally, President Mohamud and Prime Minister Ahmed welcomed the agreement reached by the commanders of the Somali National Army (SNA) and the Ethiopian National Defense Forces (ENDF). This agreement aims to bolster regional security and stability. Both leaders also praised the commencement of technical talks in Ankara, which demonstrate their countries’ commitment to effective dialogue and cooperation.

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed expressed gratitude for the warm reception he and his delegation received from the Somali government and people, underscoring the importance his country places on strengthening bilateral relations with Somalia, a key factor for the stability of the region.

The Ethiopian delegation, led by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, departed from Aden Ade Airport, continuing their journey back to Ethiopia.
