Mogadishu (KAAB TV) – Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud met with prominent Somali Quran reciter and scholar, Sheikh Abdirashid Sheikh Ali Sufi, in Mogadishu on Friday, in what Villa Somalia described as an important consultation and information-sharing meeting.
The discussions centered on strengthening the country’s overall situation, enhancing public awareness on key national issues, and reinforcing the role of religious scholars in peace-building.
A key focus of the meeting was the vital contribution of Somali Ulama in promoting national unity, guiding society through religious teachings, and countering extremist ideologies.
President Hassan Sheikh emphasized that scholars play an indispensable role in disseminating authentic Islamic knowledge and supporting efforts to improve security, stability, and social cohesion.
President Mohamud commended Somali scholars for their longstanding contributions to peace and nation-building. He highlighted their influence in shaping public understanding, strengthening moral values, and safeguarding the spiritual fabric of society.
Sheikh Abdirashid Ali Sufi expressed his appreciation for the warm reception at Villa Somalia and praised the president’s commitment to engaging religious leaders. He concluded the meeting with a heartfelt prayer for Somalia’s continued peace, progress, and prosperity.
