GAROWE (KAAB TV) – The President of Puntland State, Saeed Abdullahi Deni, convened a high-level security meeting in the port city of Bosaso with senior army officers and regional administrators to assess and accelerate counter-terrorism operations in the Bari region.
The meeting, held against the backdrop of heightened military activity, focused primarily on ongoing operations targeting Daesh militants entrenched in the rugged Al-Miskad mountain range. President Deni was briefed in detail by military commanders and local officials on the progress of the campaign, the challenges faced, and the strategic needs on the ground.
In response to the updates, President Deni instructed the security forces to intensify their efforts and expedite the ongoing operations to eliminate Daesh elements from the area. He emphasized the urgency of restoring full security to the region and called for enhanced coordination between military units and local governance structures.
In addition, the President underscored the importance of preparing for a new phase of military action, this time targeting Daesh hideouts believed to be located in the Al-Madow mountains. He directed the Puntland security apparatus to begin immediate logistical and operational planning for this next stage of the campaign.
The timing of the meeting aligns with President Deni’s current visit to Bosaso, where he is overseeing a range of activities, including the inspection of military supplies recently delivered by ship. These supplies are expected to bolster Puntland’s capacity in its ongoing fight against terrorism and ensure better support for frontline troops.
The President’s visit and the strategic discussions signal a renewed commitment by the Puntland administration to strengthen regional stability and combat extremist threats through coordinated and decisive action.
