Mogadishu (KAAB TV) – Prime Minister Hamse Abdi Barre spoke today at an event where he addressed the recent changes in the Ministry of Defense, introducing both the outgoing and incoming ministers. During his speech, he announced plans to visit Lasanood, the administrative center of SSC Khatumo.
The Prime Minister emphasized that his upcoming trip to Lasanood is intended to foster better relations between the Federal Government and the administration of SSC Khatumo. He stated, “My visit to Lasanood is aimed at strengthening the relationship between the Federal Government and the SSC Khatumo administration. It is not intended to harm the administration or the Somali community but to bring them together.”
Prime Minister Hamse further assured that the government is committed to understanding the situation on the ground in Lasanood, expressing gratitude to the people of Khatumo for their positive response to the government delegation’s visit to SSC Khatumo areas.
However, the announcement of the visit comes at a time of rising tensions, with both Somaliland and Puntland authorities strongly opposing the Prime Minister’s trip to Lasanood. Despite these objections, the Prime Minister remains focused on his mission to unite the parties and address the region’s issues.
