NISA and International Allies Eliminate 13 Al-Shabaab Militants in Joint Operation in Hiraan Region

Hiraan (KAAB TV) – The National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA), in collaboration with international partners, announced today the success of a carefully coordinated counter-terrorism operation conducted in the Mabah area, specifically around the Gaycad Junction in the Hiraan region.

According to an official press release issued earlier today, the operation targeted a group of Al-Shabaab militants who had been gathering in the area with the intent to orchestrate attacks on districts across both the Hiraan and Middle Shabelle regions.

NISA confirmed that the operation, which took place within the last several hours, resulted in the elimination of 13 Al-Shabaab members. Among the dead were key figures previously identified and targeted in earlier operations. Intelligence sources indicate that these individuals were central to recent terror plots and logistical planning for future attacks.

In addition to neutralizing the militants, the security forces successfully destroyed a cache of weapons and military equipment found at the site. This equipment was reportedly intended for use in upcoming operations by the terrorist group.

The joint mission was conducted in a precise and strategic two-pronged manner, ensuring minimal risk to civilians while maximizing the effectiveness of the strike. NISA emphasized that the operation had significantly reduced the immediate threat posed by Al-Shabaab in the region and contributed to improving the security landscape for surrounding communities.

In the statement, NISA reiterated its unwavering commitment to continuing its campaign against terrorist elements across Somalia. The agency affirmed that it would persist in targeting any group or individuals involved in planning or executing activities that endanger the peace and stability of the nation.

“This operation demonstrates our resolve to protect Somali citizens from those who seek to disrupt our progress,” the statement concluded.
