Mogadishu (Kaab TV) — The Somali government forces confiscated weapons from the personal security guards of Daahir Amin Jesow, who serves as the Security Secretary of the Himilo Qaran Party, while he was passing near the Jubba junction in Mogadishu.
The MP’s security team was on its way to his residence when they were stopped by forces believed to be affiliated with NISA. The officers subsequently seized the weapons carried by the MP’s private guards.
The official reason behind the operation remains unclear. However, the incident comes at a time when Mogadishu is experiencing heightened political activity and preparations related to demonstrations expected to take place in the capital tomorrow.
MP Daahir Amin Jesow is among the opposition politicians affiliated with the (Golaha Mustaqbalka Soomaaliyeed), and he is widely known for frequently speaking out on the country’s security and political affairs.
As of now, the Federal Government has not issued an official statement regarding the incident.
