Mortar Attacks Target Key Areas in Mogadishu

|

Mogadishu (KAAB TV) – Several mortar shells struck Aden Adde Airport and the Halane Camp today, which houses embassies and various Western organizations.

The origin of the mortars remains unclear, but they landed near Halane Camp and Aden Adde Airport. Reports also indicate that some mortars hit the Halane area directly.

In addition, local sources reported that two civilians were injured when mortars fell in Wadajir district. Other mortars landed on open ground.

Somali government security agencies have not yet issued any official statement regarding the mortar attacks on Halane Camp and Aden Adde Airport, both of which are heavily guarded.

This attack comes just a day after similar mortar strikes targeted Somalia’s presidential palace, with some shells landing in residential areas.
