Mogadishu (KAAB TV) – Police in Mogadishu have arrested a woman accused of fatally stabbing her husband in the Dayniile district, according to a statement issued by the Banadir Regional Police Command on Thursday.
The suspect, identified as Fadumo Mohamed Osman, was taken into custody shortly after the killing of Hassan Mohamed Nur, who police say died from severe injuries sustained in a knife attack allegedly carried out by his wife.
Authorities said investigations are ongoing to determine the motive behind the incident, adding that the suspect will be brought before the courts once the inquiry is complete.
The police command also noted that cases involving deadly domestic violence between couples have been on the rise in parts of the country, with several suspects currently in custody awaiting trial.
