Mogadishu Opposition Complies with Federal Government Directive

Mogadishu (Kaab TV) – Former President of Somalia, Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed, a key figure in the opposition in Mogadishu, announced that people should gather at 11:00 a.m. at Eng Yarisow Stadium or Konis Stadium.

This follows the government’s directive issued yesterday, instructing the opposition to hold demonstrations at those designated venues.

This decision effectively enforces the Somali government’s order prohibiting the opposition from holding protests in the locations they had previously selected, some of which were close to the presidential palace.

Meanwhile, the government has tightened security in Mogadishu, deploying additional forces to areas where opposition members are based.

Several roads in Mogadishu have been closed, and the sound of military aircraft has been reported, suggesting that the government is on high alert.

These activities by both the government and the opposition in Mogadishu have affected daily life in the capital, particularly for low-income residents.
