Jubbaland Criticizes Launch of Justice and Solidarity Party, Warns of Authoritarian Shift

The Jubaland administration has issued a strong statement in response to the announcement of the Justice and Solidarity Party (JSP)

KISMAYO (KAAB TV) — The Jubaland administration has issued a strong statement in response to the announcement of the Justice and Solidarity Party (JSP), unveiled last night in Mogadishu with President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud named as its chairman.

In an official press release, the Jubaland government condemned the move, stating it reflects “the irresponsibility of President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud’s administration,” particularly at a time when the country faces serious security challenges.

The statement warned that the creation of such a political party could pave the way for authoritarian rule and potentially incite violence.

Ahmed Madobe, President of Jubaland, emphasized in the same statement that the roles of the two Houses of Parliament must be respected and clarified.

He urged national political stakeholders to act swiftly to safeguard the country from escalating political tension and instability.
