Mogadishu (Kaab TV) – Jubaland President Ahmed Mohamed Islam Madobe on Friday joined senior government officials, religious scholars, security commanders, and hundreds of residents in performing Eid al-Adha prayers at the Presidential Palace compound in Kismayo, the administrative capital of Jubaland State.

The gathering marked one of the largest Eid celebrations held in the city, as Muslims across Somalia and the wider Islamic world commemorated the annual religious holiday.

Following the prayers, President Madobe exchanged Eid greetings with worshippers and delivered remarks emphasizing unity, peace, and cooperation among the Somali people.

The Jubaland leader also praised security forces for maintaining stability in the region during the holiday period and called on citizens to support ongoing efforts aimed at strengthening peace and development in southern Somalia.

Officials from the Jubaland administration used the occasion to emphasize the importance of reconciliation, stability, and continued security efforts in the region, particularly as Jubaland remains a key frontline state in operations against the Al-Shabaab militant group.

Authorities in Kismayo had earlier heightened security measures across the city to ensure the celebrations proceeded peacefully.

Eid al-Adha celebrations in Jubaland come at a time when regional administrations across Somalia are using the occasion to promote reconciliation and social solidarity amid ongoing political and security challenges facing the country.
