HARGEISA (Kaab TV) – A large delegation of international investors has arrived in Hargeisa, the capital of Somaliland, to explore the country’s growing investment opportunities.
President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi (Irro) received the delegation, which included representatives from Africa, Asia, the USA, and Europe, specifically from countries such as Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, the USA, Qatar, China, India, and Austria.
The delegation was led by PLO Lumumba, head of the Lumumba Foundation.
President Irro acknowledged the Kenyan-born academic for his investment in the Somaliland education sector as Lumumba established education institution under his trade name ‘Lumumba foundation’.
During the meeting, the President and the delegation discussed strategies for investing in Somaliland’s diverse economic sectors.
“The Somaliland government policy is to encourage all investors across the globe – any country, any company, any investor – is most welcome to Somaliland,.” President Irro said.
He said Somaliland possess a lot of opportunities in businesses.
The President warmly welcomed the investors, encouraging them to focus on energy, manufacturing, and natural resources, which are key areas with high potential to drive economic growth and create jobs for the local community.
He highlighted that Somaliland offers peace, stability, political security, transparent governance, and a functioning democratic system, providing an ideal environment for mutually beneficial investments.
The delegation expressed gratitude to the President for the warm reception and productive discussions.
They pledged to thoroughly assess Somaliland’s investment opportunities, particularly in energy, manufacturing, natural resources, and infrastructure, acknowledging that the country’s stability and governance make it a compelling destination for international investors.
