High Court of Somaliland Army Sentences Defendants in Murder of Buux Mawlid Ismail

Hargeisa (KAAB TV) – On Monday, the High Court of the Somaliland army delivered its verdict in the case of the murder of the late Buux Mawlid Ismail, which occurred two months ago in Gabilay.

The court found Salah Isaaq guilty of murdering Buux Mawlid Ismail and sentenced him to death.

In addition, the Supreme Court of the Somaliland army handed down prison sentences ranging from 12 years to one year for six other individuals involved in the case. One additional accused was granted freedom following the court’s decision.

The relatives of the deceased, who was an army officer, expressed their satisfaction with the court’s rulings and stated that they are now awaiting the execution of the verdict, particularly the death sentence for the murderer.
