Mogadishu (Kaab TV) – The President of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, today held talks in Mogadishu with a delegation from the United Kingdom, led by Minister of State for Development and Africa, Jenny Chapman.
President Hassan Sheikh and the British delegation discussed ways to strengthen the United Kingdom’s support for Somalia, particularly in the areas of security and development.
The President expressed his gratitude to the UK government for its continued assistance to Somalia, especially its efforts to enhance security, combat terrorism, and implement priority development plans aimed at improving the lives of the Somali people.
For her part, Minister Jenny Chapman reaffirmed the United Kingdom’s strong commitment to deepening cooperation with Somalia. She emphasized that Somalia holds strategic importance for stability in the Horn of Africa and the African continent as a whole.
