A powerful explosion was reported in Hargeisa, Somaliland, causing alarm among residents and leaving at least two people seriously injured.
The blast occurred at a business premises in the Isha Boorama neighborhood, with the injured reportedly taken to Hargeisa General Hospital for treatment.
Somaliland security officials said the explosion involved a hand grenade being carried by four soldiers who had recently returned from the Oog front lines.
According to the officials, the grenade accidentally detonated, seriously injuring two of the soldiers. Police cordoned off the area and launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
