|

Lower Shabelle (Kaab TV) – Abdirahman Abdullahi, widely known by the nickname Sandhiiqo and one of the young officers of the Somali National Army, was killed in an explosion believed to have been a landmine. The incident occurred in the Number 50 area of the Lower Shabelle region in the South West State.

The officer was among the young soldiers who received training at the TURKSOM military camp in Mogadishu. Reports say the landmine struck him, causing injuries, and he later died from those wounds after a short time, according to various sources.

In recent days, he had been involved in operations aimed at securing the road linking Afgoye and Marka. He held several meetings with federal forces, local security units, and African Union (AUSSOM) troops to strengthen security.

So far, no official statement has been issued by the Federal Government or the South West State authorities detailing the explosion that killed the officer. Meanwhile, government forces are continuing security operations in areas near Number 50.
