Galmudug (KAAB TV) – The Galmudug Regional Government has announced the arrest of a suspect linked to the killing of businessman Deeq Abdi Jama, a well-known youth figure in the Guriceel District.
According to an official statement released by local security authorities, police forces were able to apprehend the alleged perpetrator along with the AK-47 rifle believed to have been used in the crime.
Officials noted that the arrest came as part of an ongoing effort by security forces to curb violent incidents within the region. The successful operation was carried out through coordinated action by the district police command and other local security units.
During a joint press briefing, Shaafi Jama Abdi, the Deputy Governor of Guriceel, alongside the District Police Commander and additional regional officials, condemned the killing and emphasized that the government will not tolerate crimes that destabilize communities.
They further issued strong warnings against individuals involved in violence, criminality, and behavior that threatens public safety.
Authorities underscored that the Galmudug administration remains committed to combating inter-clan conflicts, gender-based violence, and murders, which have historically affected both urban centers and surrounding rural areas.
Security operations targeting groups and individuals responsible for such instability are currently underway, with officials vowing to intensify efforts to protect civilians and restore order.
The regional government expressed condolences to the family of the late Deeq Abdi Jama and reaffirmed that justice will be pursued to its fullest extent as investigations continue.
