Aboorey (KAAB TV) – Intense fighting has broken out in the Aboorey area, located within the Bulaburte district of the Hiraan region, as local Maawisley fighters from the Hawadle clan launch a coordinated assault against Al-Shabaab militants.
According to reports from the region, the Maawisley forces initiated a multi-front attack on Aboorey, a location that had previously been under Al-Shabaab control.
The battle is reportedly fierce, with both sides engaging in heavy combat and deploying a variety of weapons.
The sounds of gunfire and explosions have been heard from a distance, indicating the scale of the confrontation.
Casualties have been reported, including deaths and injuries, although the exact figures remain unconfirmed as the fighting continues.
This recent escalation in Aboorey follows a series of ongoing clashes over the past four days between Maawisley fighters and Al-Shabaab in areas along the Hiraan–Middle Shabelle border.
These confrontations have reportedly resulted in the deaths of more than 70 Al-Shabaab fighters.
