MOGADISHU (Kaab TV) – Separate meetings are currently taking place in Mogadishu between officials of the Federal Government of Somalia and opposition members, following the launch of dialogue at the Presidential Palace.
According to various sources who spoke to Mustaqbal, the two sides are discussing key issues to be prioritized in the upcoming round of negotiations, with each side seeking to strengthen the agenda it plans to present.
On matters related to elections and the constitution, diverse discussions are ongoing. At times, these debates have compelled both the government and the opposition to further consult internally on particularly challenging points.
The talks began in a calm atmosphere, with no political tension reported. Both sides appeared to share common ground on the preliminary issues addressed during the initial discussions between the Federal Government of Somalia and opposition representatives.
In addition to the direct meetings, parallel discussions are being held by members of the technical committee that worked to facilitate the arrival of leaders from the regional states of Puntland and Jubbaland in the capital. A series of consultative meetings took place before all parties eventually convened at the Presidential Palace.
