U.S. Federal Authorities Conduct Search Operations at the Residence of Representative Ilhan Omar

Homeland Security Investigations agents searched the Washington, D.C., home of Democratic Congresswoman Ilhan Omar of Minnesota on October 12, 2026, according to the Associated Press and Reuters.

The Department of Justice confirmed the search is part of an ongoing criminal investigation and was carried out under a court-authorized warrant.

Some reports link the probe to Omar’s immigration and citizenship records, including information her late father submitted when she was a child. Authorities have released no further details.

Omar, who was born in Somalia, has firmly denied earlier allegations of immigration discrepancies and sham marriages.

President Donald Trump and his administration have previously threatened to deport her. The search comes as preparations for the congressional elections are underway.
