MOGADISHU (Kaab TV) – Former President of Somalia, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo, has provided details about a courtesy and briefing meeting he held today with the Presidents of Puntland and Jubbaland, Saed Abdullahi Deni and Ahmed Mohamed Islam (Ahmed Madobe).
Farmaajo stated that the meeting focused specifically on the country’s challenging political situation and the urgent need for genuine consultations to address ongoing obstacles, particularly issues related to elections and the constitution.
The former president welcomed the arrival of the two regional leaders in the capital, Mogadishu, encouraging strengthened efforts to reach an inclusive agreement that would prevent political uncertainty and security crises arising from existing conflicts.
He praised President Deni and President Ahmed Madobe for their goodwill and commitment to finding a lasting solution that unites the divided political factions.
Additionally, Farmaajo called on the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, urging him to demonstrate compromise and leadership capable of uniting opposing parties, to overcome current deadlocks and prevent a constitutional vacuum in the country.
Finally, Farmaajo emphasized that the complex political situation should not distract leaders and politicians from addressing the urgent humanitarian needs of Somali citizens affected by the prolonged drought, calling for concrete and effective measures to save the lives of those suffering.
