Europe and UN Concerned Over Return of Puntland and Jubaland Delegation Flights

|

MOGADISHU (Kaab TV) – The European Union and the United Nations have expressed concern over the decision taken today to turn back two flights arriving from Garowe and Kismayo, which were carrying advance delegations for the presidents of Puntland and Jubaland.

The aircraft transporting the two delegations from the federal member states were denied landing clearance and forced to return while they were preparing to land at Aden Adde International Airport in Mogadishu.

“It is regrettable that today the advance delegations of Puntland and Jubaland were unable to reach Mogadishu. Regardless of any existing disagreements, the European Union hopes that all parties will find a solution that allows this important dialogue to take place and creates a conducive environment for constructive discussions, which could pave the way forward on electoral issues,” said the European Union Ambassador to Somalia, Francesca Di Mauro, in a statement posted on her X (formerly Twitter) account.
