Ethiopian Military Exercise in Baidoa Highlights Strength Amid Regional Tensions

|

Baidoa (KAAB TV) – Today, Ethiopian troops conducted a military exercise in Baidoa, showcasing their military capabilities, particularly in Somalia.

The parade was held to commemorate “the victory of Adwa, the resistance to colonialism, and the victory of African unity.”

The event was attended by South West President Abdicasis Laftagareen, officials from the Ethiopian forces, and representatives from the African Union.

This demonstration of military power highlights Ethiopia’s significant presence in Somalia, particularly as the country recently rejoined the new AUSSOM mission.

The military exercise takes place amid growing tensions between Ethiopia and Egypt over the ongoing Nile River conflict, which has added a layer of regional rivalry.
