MOGADISHU (Kaab TV) – More details have emerged regarding an explosion that occurred early this morning in Mogadishu, specifically in the Shibis district of the Banaadir region. The blast was reportedly heard in several parts of the capital.
According to various sources, the explosion is believed to have originated from a vehicle reportedly owned by a Somali police officer. It is suspected that an explosive device had been attached to the vehicle, although security agencies have not yet released official details about the incident.
There have been no confirmed reports of casualties resulting from the explosion. The vehicle targeted is said to belong to General Cabdirisaaq Afgaduud, a senior official in the Medical Department of the Somali Police Force. Reports indicate that he was not inside the vehicle at the time of the blast.
Security forces of the Federal Government of Somalia arrived at the scene and launched an investigation into the incident. However, authorities have not yet provided further information, as residents of Mogadishu have in recent times frequently heard the sound of explosions in the city.
