Curfew Imposed in Los Angeles Amid Ongoing Protests Over Immigration Policies

|

Los Angeles (KAAB TV) — Parts of Los Angeles have been placed under a nightly curfew following five consecutive days of violent protests opposing President Donald Trump’s immigration policies. The curfew will be in effect from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

City authorities have issued phone alerts to residents, informing them of the curfew and restrictions on nighttime movement. Only essential workers and emergency personnel are exempt from the curfew order.

Mayor Karen Bass announced that the curfew would apply to a one-mile radius in the affected area, specifically targeting parts of the city where protests have intensified.

In a statement earlier today, Mayor Bass said she had spoken directly with President Trump, urging him to withdraw ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) agents currently deployed in Los Angeles. She claimed their presence is escalating tensions and contributing to chaos in the city.
