Mogadishu (KAAB TV) — General Elder Yusuf Raage, Commander of the Somali Armed Forces, has extended heartfelt congratulations to the Somali National Army on its 65th anniversary, sending his message from the front lines of the ongoing conflict.
Commander Odowa, in his official statement, praised all ranks within the army—officers, deputy officers, enlisted soldiers—and extended gratitude to their families for their continued support.
“I send my sincere congratulations to the entire Somali Armed Forces on the 65th anniversary of their founding. I commend every soldier and their families on this special day,” he stated.
Addressing the current military campaign, Commander Odowa emphasized that the war against the al-Shabaab militant group is nearing its final stages. He called on all members of the armed forces to intensify their efforts and remain steadfast.
“The terrorists are truly desperate, and their defeat is near. I urge every Somali soldier to redouble their efforts and remain committed to the fight against terrorism,” he urged.
He also praised the Mawisleyda local defense forces who have been instrumental in liberating territories previously controlled by al-Shabaab.
“I thank our local defense forces for their sacrifice and dedication in defending our land and national dignity,” said Commander Odowa.
In his concluding remarks, the Commander appealed to the Somali people to support the military and the communities fighting for peace and stability.
“I call upon the Somali public to unite in this national struggle and support our armed forces and local heroes in their fight against al-Shabaab,” he concluded.
