Mogadishu (Kaab TV) – Tensions erupted in Jalalaqsi District after a man reported to be a traditional elder (Nabadoon) was arrested, affecting security and disrupting the district administration’s operations. Armed groups reportedly attempted to forcefully secure the release of the detained elder.
According to various sources who spoke to the media, residents spent the night in fear, and sporadic gunfire was heard this morning near the location where the man—whose arrest has sparked controversy—was being held.
No casualties have been reported as a result of the clashes. Reports add that local traditional elders intervened in an effort to prevent the violence from spreading throughout Jalalaqsi District in the Hiiraan region.
So far, no statement has been issued by the Jalalaqsi District Administration regarding the arrest of the Nabadoon. The administration is expected to release an explanation outlining the reasons for the arrest of the man said to be among the traditional elders, details of the exchange of gunfire, any potential casualties, and the measures taken by the authorities.
