Galmudug (KAAB TV) – Tragic news has emerged from the Gudoole area of Galmudug State, where an elderly woman, identified as Madina’s mother, was killed in a violent attack carried out by unidentified armed gunmen.
The incident occurred late last night while the victim was inside her home. Her son, who was present at the time, sustained serious injuries from gunfire.
According to local residents, the assailants quickly fled the scene after the attack.
Witnesses reported that the attackers may have connections to a local clan that has been active in the region for some time, though the motive behind the assault remains unclear.
The victim’s body, along with her injured son, was transported to the nearby town of Bahdo, where medical personnel are providing emergency treatment to the wounded man.
Community members in Bahdo and Gudoole expressed deep sorrow and anger over the killing, describing it as part of the ongoing insecurity that has plagued parts of Galmudug.
Tensions remain high in the area following the attack, with residents calling on regional authorities to strengthen security and launch a thorough investigation to bring the perpetrators to justice.
As of now, officials from Galmudug’s security agencies have not released any statement regarding the incident. Efforts to reach local authorities for comment have been unsuccessful.
