MOGADISHU (Kaab TV) – The Federal Government of Somalia has imposed nine requirements on traders operating in the Bakara Market in Mogadishu. These conditions have led to the closure of many businesses within the market.

The traders argued that some of the requirements are difficult to meet, which is why they decided to shut down their businesses.

The requirements include:

  1. Business License
  2. Passport of the Owner
  3. Company Profile
  4. Notary Documents / By-laws
  5. Company Email Address
  6. Company Phone Number
  7. Bank Account Details
  8. Name of the Property Owner and the Organization Residing There
  9. House Rent Information

Bakara Market supports a large number of people, including business owners, employees, porters, and many others. However, the closure of the market has had a negative impact on their livelihoods.
