Mogadishu (Kaab TV) – Benjamin Netanyahu appeared before a court in Tel Aviv today, facing allegations of corruption, bribery, and abuse of power, according to a report broadcast by Channel 12.
The case was first opened in 2019 and formally went to trial the following year, in 2020. In 2024, the accusations against Netanyahu intensified, with additional allegations linked to the killings and humanitarian blockade in Gaza.
Netanyahu is also the subject of an arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court, which called on member states that have signed the court’s treaty to arrest and hand him over for prosecution over the alleged crimes.
The latest controversy emerged after Netanyahu requested that his court session be shortened, citing security concerns and the possibility of an attack. The request was ultimately approved.
Media outlets were barred from broadcasting the court proceedings live. They were only permitted to record and air footage after the session ended, reportedly due to security concerns aimed at preventing the location from being targeted, according to security sources.
