HARGEISA (KAAB TV) – Two people were killed and others were injured in a car accident on the outskirts of Hargeisa, the administrative center of Somaliland, as confirmed by local residents and Somaliland Police Officers.
The luxury car that was involved in the accident that caused the death and injury was said to have started from Burco and was heading to the city of Hargeisa carrying passengers.
In most areas of Somaliland, there are car accidents, which cause losses including death and injuries, and are caused by damaged roads and drivers who drive cars at high speed.
Somaliland police said that the number of car accidents last year reached 7,18 accidents, which caused the death of 188 people, while 4,454 were injured, and 528 animals were damaged.
The Somaliland police said that the most common causes of traffic accidents in Somaliland are mobile phones used by drivers while driving, speeding and carelessness.
People accuse the traffic police of being lenient and getting a driving license easily, resulting in a person with no experience driving a car.
