Mogadishu (KAAB TV) – A deadly assault was reported last night as the Al-Shabaab militant group launched a coordinated attack on positions held by the Somali National Security Forces and the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) in the Ceelasha Biyaha area, located on the outskirts of Mogadishu.
According to local sources, the attack began with a series of explosions, followed by intense close-range combat between the militants and government forces. Various types of weapons were reportedly used in the clash.
The fighting resulted in multiple casualties, including both fatalities and injuries on both sides. However, the exact number of dead and wounded has not yet been officially confirmed.
As of now, Somali federal security agencies have not released any statements regarding the extent of the casualties or the ongoing situation in Ceelasha Biyaha.
This incident comes amid a surge in attacks by Al-Shabaab, who have recently intensified their operations against Somali government forces across several districts in the central and southern regions of the country.
