Sabiib (KAAB TV) – This morning, Al-Shabaab carried out a significant assault on the army camp located in the Sabiib area, under the Afgooye district in the Lower Shabelle region. The attack began with suicide bombings, followed by a direct ground assault on the camp.
Intense clashes have ensued between Al-Shabaab militants and the Somali National Army forces stationed at the camp. Local residents report hearing heavy gunfire from both sides, but the full extent of the situation at the camp remains unclear.
As of now, numerous casualties, both dead and wounded, have been reported due to the attack. However, the exact toll of casualties on both sides has not yet been confirmed.
