Mogadishu (Kaab TV) — A tragic accident occurred at midnight in Mogadishu’s Howlwadaag District, resulting in the death of a 60-year-old woman, Maryan Mohamud Culusow. The vehicle involved in the incident was heavily loaded.
According to reports, the driver—known as Ina-tareey—attempted to overtake another vehicle but lost control after his brakes failed. The truck crashed into the house where the victim was staying and then into a nearby restaurant, injuring four people.
The accident took place near the Howlwadaag intersection and close to the Howlwadaag District Police Station. Security forces quickly arrived at the scene, cordoned off the area, and arranged for the victim’s body to be taken to the CID Investigation Center.
In recent days, Mogadishu has seen an increase in accidents involving trucks. Many of these incidents are attributed to drivers failing to inspect their vehicles, leading to brake failures and other mechanical issues.
