Somalia Summons Kenyan Ambassador Over Jubaland President’s Visit to Nairobi

|

MOGADISHU (Kaab TV) – The Somali Federal Government has summoned the Kenyan Ambassador to Mogadishu, Cyprian Kubai Iringo, over the visit of President Ahmed Mohamed Ahmed Islam (Madobe) of Jubaland to Nairobi on Saturday.

Mogadishu has expressed anger that President Madobe traveled to Kenya amid the ongoing rift between Jubaland and Mogadishu.

Reports indicate that the Somali Federal Government’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Kenyan Ambassador and handed over a letter, giving two days to respond to why the Kenyan government allowed Ahmed Madobe to land in Kenya.

Mogadishu had initially banned President Madobe’s travel just days after he was re-elected as the Jubaland leader on November 25, 2024.
