MOGADISHU (Kaab TV) – The President of Jubaland State, Ahmed Mohamed Islam, visited Jubaland Darawiish forces operating in the Jana Abdalle area of the Lower Jubba region on the third day of Eid al-Adha.

During the visit, President Ahmed Madobe thanked the officers and soldiers of the Jubaland Darawiish forces for maintaining constant readiness in the defense and liberation of Jubaland territories. He praised the troops for their role in maintaining security and ensuring that the people of Jubaland can live in peace and stability.

The president stated that new military operations aimed at liberating areas of Jubaland still under the control of the extremist group Al-Shabaab would begin soon.

He encouraged the forces to prepare for what he described as a national duty to secure lasting peace and stability for both Jubaland and Somalia as a whole.

Ahmed Madobe said the planned operations are intended to fulfill the aspirations of the people of Jubaland and the wider Somali population for improved security, stability, and long-term peace.

The Jana Abdalle area, located in the Lower Jubba region near the strategic port city of Kismayo, has long served as an important military zone for operations against Al-Shabaab militants operating in southern Somalia.

Jubaland authorities, alongside the Somali National Army and international partners, have conducted multiple offensives in the region over the years aimed at weakening Al-Shabaab’s presence and reopening supply routes connecting rural communities with major towns.

Despite military pressure, Al-Shabaab continues to control or influence parts of rural areas in southern and central Somalia, carrying out ambushes, bombings, and attacks targeting government forces and civilians.

President Ahmed Madobe was accompanied during the visit by Jubaland Security Minister Yusuf Hussein Osman Dhuumaal, Minister of Education and Higher Education Abdinasir Serar Maax, Deputy Security Minister Adan Ahmed Haji, and the Director of the Intelligence and Security Agency, Mohamed Ahmed Sabriye.

The visit comes as Somali regional administrations and federal forces intensify preparations for renewed military campaigns against Al-Shabaab in several parts of the country amid ongoing efforts to restore security and expand government control.
