Mogadishu (Kaab TV) – Hamza Abdi Barre, the Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, once again held talks tonight with the Presidents of Puntland and Jubaland.
The meeting, which took place at the Halane (Xalane) compound in Mogadishu, focused on the overall situation in the country and on how to jointly address priority issues related to state-building, security, and stability in Somalia, according to statements released by Puntland and Jubaland authorities.
The meeting comes after leaders of the Federal Government of Somalia and the Future Council reached an understanding earlier today. They agreed to convene at Villa Somalia and to resolve the remaining issues through dialogue at the negotiating table.
The official date for the opening of the conference between the Federal Government of Somalia and the Future Council at Villa Somalia has not yet been confirmed. The most contentious items on the agenda are expected to include constitutional amendments and electoral matters.
