Presidents of Somalia and Kenya and the Prime Minister of Ethiopia Meet in Nairobi

|

Nairobi (Kaab TV) – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, his Kenyan counterpart William Ruto, and Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed are scheduled to hold a trilateral meeting in Nairobi.

The talks will focus on relations between the three neighboring countries, security issues, the future of forces stationed in Somalia, and other regional matters, according to sources close to the meeting in Nairobi.

Before the main trilateral session, Hassan Sheikh, William Ruto, and Abiy Ahmed are expected to hold separate bilateral meetings to discuss recent developments and the objectives of the summit, which will then feed into their joint discussions.

At the conclusion of the meeting, a communiqué is expected to be issued outlining the key agreements and decisions reached by the three leaders.

This trilateral summit comes amid ongoing security and political challenges in the Horn of Africa. Somalia has been working with its neighbors on stabilizing the region, especially concerning militant groups, cross-border security, and economic cooperation.

Kenya and Ethiopia are key regional partners, and such high-level meetings often aim to strengthen coordination on peacekeeping, trade, and regional diplomacy. Observers will be watching closely to see whether the leaders announce concrete steps for joint security operations, economic projects, or political cooperation.
