Middle Jubba (Kaab TV) – Additional details have emerged regarding an airstrike carried out in recent hours by fighter aircraft in the Middle Juba region.
A short statement issued by the Somali government says the strike targeted the town of Jilib, located in Middle Juba.
Reports add that the airstrike hit a location where senior Al-Shabaab officials were present in Jilib, although the exact casualties have not yet been confirmed.
The statement from the Federal Government notes that the strike successfully achieved its intended objective, and further details will be released soon.
The airstrike operation was conducted by Somalia’s international partners supporting the fight against Al-Shabaab, particularly the United States government.
Similarly, in the past few hours, fighter jets have also carried out an airstrike in the village of Jambaluul, which falls under Afgooye district in the Lower Shabelle region, although civilians were reportedly affected during that operation.
