Baidoa (KAAB TV) – South West State President Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed Laftagareen visited the front lines of the ongoing battle against Al-Shabaab, aiming to motivate and show solidarity with the armed forces engaged in the fight.
During his visit, President Laftagareen held a high-level meeting with senior military commanders. He was briefed on the latest security developments, military achievements, and the challenges faced on the ground. He expressed his deep appreciation for the bravery and sacrifice of the soldiers defending the nation.
President Laftagareen’s presence on the battlefield underscores the South West State government’s strong commitment to national defense and the welfare of its troops, particularly those who have laid down their lives in service of Somalia and its people.
Despite the show of support, large parts of the South West region remain under Al-Shabaab control. Military operations in these areas are generally limited, occurring only as part of planned offensives launched from time to time.
