Mogadishu (KAAB TV) – Somalia’s new Minister of Petroleum and Minerals Dahir Shire Mohamed and his Turkish counterpart held meetings in Ankara, the capital of Turkey.
The two officials discussed the fueling operation conducted by the Oruc Reis ship in Somalia.
‘Turkey’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar announced that the ship Oruc Reis has completed 50 percent of the seismic research in the Somali Sea.
The two ministers “discussed the next steps in exploration activities and the new cooperation that we can develop in the area,” a statement from the Ministry of Petroleum and Minerals said.
The two sides agreed to start a new process of cooperation on minerals in Somalia.
A ship owned by Turkey called Oruc Reis, docked in the port of Mogadishu last October for the exploration of oil and natural gas off the coast of Somalia.
