Alimiskaad (KAAB TV) – Fighting between the Puntland forces and the Daesh organization in the mountains of Calmiskaad for the past three days is reported to have killed around 20 people on both sides.

The spokesman of the Puntland forces, General Mahmoud Mohamed, said that they killed up to 7 people from Daesh, and that six of them were killed by landmines.

Mohamud Mohamed Ahmed, known as Fadhigo, the spokesman of the forces conducting the operation in the mountains, said that the forces attacked Daesh positions.

“Our priority is why the land was seized, and what damage was done. Six men were taken by landmines and that’s what we suffered, but dozens of them were killed on the spot, and the army captured them from where they were sitting,” he said.

Fadhigo mentioned that in yesterday’s war, the Daesh group captured their position in Haglay area in the mountains where the fighting is going on.

The spokesman of the Puntland army’s anti-Daesh operation, General Mohamud Mohamed Ahmed, said that the Daesh group they are fighting are mostly foreigners.

“An international public enemy has invaded us, which has caused many problems throughout the world, and our aim is to liberate the country,” added the general.

Puntland declared a war a few weeks ago in the Calmis-Kaad mountains in the Bari region, where the Daesh group has positions.
